Nice Shoes

It's official. My kid wears nicer shoes than me. Yesterday, William had a special day with his grandparents. A sort of early birthday. Have you ever asked a three year old what they want? He's been clear about one thing. He has requested chocolate cupcakes with BLUE icing and Pizza for dinner (The important things). Stay tuned for pictures of that! AnyHoo:-) MomMom and PopPop took William out to lunch then off for a bit of shopping. They came home with new shoes (Which he needed). Mom handed me the box containing the old shoes. I looked down, "You bought a three year old Kenneth Cole sneakers?!" Mom replied, "Who is Kenneth Cole?" Needless to say William is a very lucky boy with very stylish feet. Mommy will try not to be too jealous. D

You asked for it Adriane. I actually love our story. It's a constant reminder of God's plan for our lives. In his time.  You see, I knew Stephen two years prior to our dating. I talked to him all the time. He remembers these meetings far better than I because I was busy chasing after the wrong boy at the time. Stephen went off to Cambridge and then to Illinois for vicarage and I got some lessons of the heart from the school of hard knocks. I had pretty much convinced myself that no one was ever going to love me. Let alone marry me. I don't know what's lower than the depths of despair but I'd found it. new year, new...

This post is not going to be full of ridiculous resolutions but rather a short and sweet kick off to 2016. Oh, don't get me wrong. I have a personal laundry list of accomplishments I hope to check off my list this year but they're mostly boring. I will say that I will be here more often and hope to connect with you in a variety of ways. I'll be sharing blog content and related posts on the Raising Hands Facebook page .  I've also created a blog only Instagram account @Raising_Hands_ You can still following my @Delawaremama feed for what's happening with the family.  I dipped my toes into the waters of Periscope last year and had fun. Look for me there @Delawaremama For Christmas, I received an amazing new camera. That should improve the pictures around here too! Company breakfast

The last few weeks have been busier than usual. Stephen has been traveling, my in-laws have been traveling, my parents came to stay for a week, and I stayed right here. I had a nice visit with my folks. We stayed very busy doing all the fun beach things around here. Even with all the fun we were having we missed Dad. Lucky for us Steve is home to stay for a while and his folks rolled back into town a couple days ago too. Steve was more than a little jealous when he learned I made both of these dishes for other people while he was away. To make amends I got busy in the kitchen and invited his parents over this morning for a big Welcome Home breakfast.  On the menu were Cinnamon Rolls ( Thank you Jan, for this awesome recipe ) and Egg Cassarole.
