Peer Pressure

You Pyrex collectors (You know who you are). I have decided I want to be one of the cool kids too. I have been admiring your flea market finds and the way they make your dining tables feel like home. Mostly though all that pretty floral, and brightly colored bakeware make me miss my grandmother. I can identify each dish by what I remember her serving in it. I hope that the dishes I collect add to fond memories that my own dear children and (Lord willing) grandchildren will have of our home and the good food served there.

My first finds are humble but I'm excited to share them. My grandmother had the same butter dish and the casserole is the perfect size and will get lots of use.

    I love it! And I like that you actually have memories connected to it. That's the real reason for collecting. Now I know to keep my eye out for your pattern!!

You asked for it Adriane. I actually love our story. It's a constant reminder of God's plan for our lives. In his time.  You see, I knew Stephen two years prior to our dating. I talked to him all the time. He remembers these meetings far better than I because I was busy chasing after the wrong boy at the time. new year, new...

This post is not going to be full of ridiculous resolutions but rather a short and sweet kick off to 2016. Oh, don't get me wrong. I have a personal laundry list of accomplishments I hope to check off my list this year but they're mostly boring. I will say that I will be here more often and hope to connect with you in a variety of ways. I'll be sharing blog content and related posts on the Raising Hands Facebook page .  I've also created a blog only Instagram account @Raising_Hands_ You can still following my @Delawaremama feed for what's happening with the family.  I dipped my toes into the waters of Periscope last year and had fun. Look for me there @Delawaremama For Christmas, I received an amazing new camera. That should improve the pictures around here too! Company breakfast

The last few weeks have been busier than usual. Stephen has been traveling, my in-laws have been traveling, my parents came to stay for a week, and I stayed right here. I had a nice visit with my folks. We stayed very busy doing all the fun beach things around here. Even with all the fun we were having we missed Dad. Lucky for us Steve is home to stay for a while and his folks rolled back into town a couple days ago too. Steve was more than a little jealous when he learned I made both of these dishes for other people while he was away. To make amends I got busy in the kitchen and invited his parents over this morning for a big Welcome Home breakfast.  On the menu were Cinnamon Rolls ( Thank you Jan, for this awesome recipe ) and Egg Cassarole.
