Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival

Today we made a short trip North to a little town called Milton for the 9th Annual Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival. The festival corresponds with the time each year the crabs make there way to our shores to spawn. They lay there eggs and then, (as with most food chains) shorebirds of various species eat the freshly laid eggs which are very high in protein and a favorite food among the birds. It's all very fascinating but mostly the festival is about fun with a heap of education on the side. Also, Bella was with us but didn't manage to make it in any pictures. She pretty much slept through the whole thing.

Also of note, for any visitors who would like to make their way East:-). The town of Milton is also the home of Dogfish Head Brewery. For those who know their beer. It's kind of a big deal.

You asked for it Adriane. I actually love our story. It's a constant reminder of God's plan for our lives. In his time.  You see, I knew Stephen two years prior to our dating. I talked to him all the time. He remembers these meetings far better than I because I was busy chasing after the wrong boy at the time. new year, new...

This post is not going to be full of ridiculous resolutions but rather a short and sweet kick off to 2016. Oh, don't get me wrong. I have a personal laundry list of accomplishments I hope to check off my list this year but they're mostly boring. I will say that I will be here more often and hope to connect with you in a variety of ways. I'll be sharing blog content and related posts on the Raising Hands Facebook page .  I've also created a blog only Instagram account @Raising_Hands_ You can still following my @Delawaremama feed for what's happening with the family.  I dipped my toes into the waters of Periscope last year and had fun. Look for me there @Delawaremama For Christmas, I received an amazing new camera. That should improve the pictures around here too! Company breakfast

The last few weeks have been busier than usual. Stephen has been traveling, my in-laws have been traveling, my parents came to stay for a week, and I stayed right here. I had a nice visit with my folks. We stayed very busy doing all the fun beach things around here. Even with all the fun we were having we missed Dad. Lucky for us Steve is home to stay for a while and his folks rolled back into town a couple days ago too. Steve was more than a little jealous when he learned I made both of these dishes for other people while he was away. To make amends I got busy in the kitchen and invited his parents over this morning for a big Welcome Home breakfast.  On the menu were Cinnamon Rolls ( Thank you Jan, for this awesome recipe ) and Egg Cassarole.
