the story of us

You asked for it Adriane. I actually love our story. It's a constant reminder of God's plan for our lives. In his time.  You see, I knew Stephen two years prior to our dating. I talked to him all the time. He remembers these meetings far better than I because I was busy chasing after the wrong boy at the time. Stephen went off to Cambridge and then to Illinois for vicarage and I got some lessons of the heart from the school of hard knocks. I had pretty much convinced myself that no one was ever going to love me. Let alone marry me. I don't know what's lower than the depths of despair but I'd found it. Before too long another Spring had come to Fort Wayne and all the promise and excitement of another years commencement and even more exciting the call and placement services. 2006 was one of the last years I knew the majority of men leaving the seminary and I never missed a call service. I was supposed to go with my roommate, a deaconess awaiting placement hersel

Poor sinful being

I saw   this link shared on Facebook last week. I read the title and thought, "Awesome!" someone who understands what a stay at home mom goes through.  I wanted to love this post. Here was Matt Walsh saying things that my husband and I have said to each other a hundred times.  Then I came to this paragraph,     "Yes, my wife is JUST a mother. JUST. She JUST brings forth life into the universe, and she JUST shapes and molds and raises those lives. She JUST manages, directs and maintains the workings of the household, while caring for children who JUST rely on her for everything. She JUST teaches our twins how to be human beings, and, as they grow, she will JUST train them in all things, from morals, to manners, to the ABC’s, to hygiene, etc. She is JUST my spiritual foundation and the rock on which our family is built. She is JUST everything to everyone. And society would JUST fall apart at the seams if she, and her fellow moms, failed in any of the tasks I outlined.

Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Or Salad, or dig in and just eat it with a spoon. You know, so you can shovel as much into your mouth as possible! This recipe is another Pinterest find. The source recipe can be found here but I use it mainly as a guide. I do use the recipe verbatim to make the sauce. I like to get as much bang for my grocery buck so when the recipe starts with shitake mushrooms I'm going to use baby portobellos. I like their meaty texture and they help stretch this meal to feed our family. I almost never buy shallots either. I usually play with a combination of onion and garlic. In this case because garlic is already an ingredient and it's an Asian dish I used green onion. I think this is great recipe to use to clean out your fridge. If you think it would be good? Throw it in there. Another helpful hint I've found when playing with Asian flavors are to keep a few staples in your pantry. Soy Sauce, (I always buy the low sodium) Rice Wine Vinegar, Sesame Oil and Sriracha combined with
